Maggie Anders was born and raised in St. Francisville, Louisiana before moving to Baton Rouge. She attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she studied political science and became involved in political groups on campus. At 20, she joined Young Americans for Liberty as the Northeast Regional Director and quickly took over the West Coast region as well. During her time at YAL, she mentored and trained over 1,000 youth activists in the most politically hostile regions of the country, and helped to elect over 190 pro-liberty legislators across the country. In January 2021, she returned to Louisiana to join The Pelican Institute for Public Policy as its External Affairs Associate.
