in STATEMENT: Tax Reform Legislation Clears Another Hurdle
BATON ROUGE—The Pelican Institute for Public Policy released the following statement after SB159 by Senator Allain passed out of the House Civil Law Committee:
“Tax reform legislation cleared another hurdle today after passing out of the House Civil Law committee. We commend Chairman Allain on taking up this important issue.
It is critical that we begin tax reform this year to start Louisiana’s comeback story. For too long, our burdensome and complex tax code has squandered job growth and investment in our state. Now is the time to take a step towards setting up Louisiana for a bright future by reforming our tax code.”
