Louisiana needs great public schools in every community. Because most students are assigned to attend public schools based on where they live per local attendance zones, the state’s accountability system is an important transparency tool to allow families and communities to know if students are being well served. Louisiana is focused on helping all students become proficient in core academic subjects—reading, math, science, and social studies—and ultimately graduate high school fully ready for college and the workplace.
