Baton Rouge — CEO of the Pelican Institute, Daniel Erspamer released the following statement after the Louisiana House of Representatives passed two bills to create education savings accounts (ESAs):
“Kids in Louisiana have been left behind for too long. The House of Representatives took a big step toward ensuring every kid, no matter their zip code, has a chance to succeed by passing House Bills 194 and 452. The bills create education savings accounts for kids who have been bullied, sexually assaulted, or have special needs, so they can have access to an educational environment that is better suited to their needs.”
