Baton Rouge — CEO of the Pelican Institute, Daniel Erspamer released the following statement after the passage of HB 33 out of the Louisiana House of Representatives to create education savings accounts for kids of foster families, military families, and families denied a transfer from D or F schools:
“We applaud the passage of HB 33 by Representative Devillier. This bill ensures that some of our most at-risk children can receive an education that fits their needs. Regardless of the zip code the child lives in, they should be able to receive an education tailored to their own situation. We look forward to supporting this bill and others that allow parents to choose the education that is right for their children.”
