Summary
This bill provides transparency for federal funds coming into Louisiana. State agencies routinely seek and receive federal grants, and when those federal grant dollars dry up, agencies often ask the legislature to continue the financial support with state funds. HB 318 by Representative McFarland requires federal funds received by state agencies to be reported to the Joint Legislative Committee of the Budget so legislators will know the amount and purpose of federal funds following into the state and be able to plan for sustainability.
