SB 456: Review Boards and Commissions to Streamline Government and Eliminate Unnecessary Barriers to Work

0% 0%

Primary Sponsor

Summary

A recent report by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor identified 483 state boards and commissions, with new ones being created every year. This bill causes all state boards and commissions to sunset unless a comprehensive periodic review determines that they continue to serve a legitimate public interest and are carrying out their intended duties. If the board or commission issues an occupational license, the licensing requirements will be subject to periodic review and sunset, as well, to eliminate barriers for people working in their chosen profession.
