Statement: The Pelican Institute Congratulates The Newly Elected BESE Officers
BATON ROUGE— CEO of the Pelican Institute, Daniel Erspamer released the following statement after new officers were elected for the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE).
“Congratulations to BESE members Jim Garvey, Kira Orange Jones, and Sandy Holloway for being elected to serve as officers of BESE. We thank former president Sandy Holloway for her strong leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic and we look forward to continuing to work with her in her new role on the board.
BESE member Jim Garvey is a steadfast champion for kids across Louisiana and will continue former president Holloway’s work in ensuring every kid in the state receives an education that best fits their needs. We look forward to working with the new BESE leadership to make sure every kid in Louisiana has a bright future.”
